Points, specials, and rewards are stored in our systems for a period of one year. Afterward, they are automatically deleted from the database, thus points are only valid for one year. The time of points collection is used to identify “Purchases”. A Purchase represents a set of points given to a customer (in a period of one hour). Purchases are also deleted after one year.
A unique identifier and additional authentication information is registered with our system to identify, and authenticate, the application installation on the user’s phone. This information is required to ensure points can only be used to associate points and rewards to a profile (and to ensure that points can only be claimed by someone who has access to that profile).
By enabling “profile recovery” customers can optionally associate their profile with an email address, which makes it possible to load the same profile in another phone, for example in case a phone has been lost.
Customers who no longer want an email address associated with their profile can deactivate “profile recovery”. After they have done this, the email address will no longer be associated with the profile, but the profile will remain active.
Customers who want to delete their profile information including email address, points, rewards, specials, and Purchases can do this through the application menu, or by application or by visiting https://www.pointwards.ca/registration/delete-profile
In order to ensure that email addresses provided are correct, one-time authentication codes are delivered through a third-party service (MailerSend). Please find their Privacy Policy at https://www.mailersend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
